Community Awareness & Victim Support
"Children are not a distraction from more important work...
they are the most important work!"
What we do
Casa de Corazon Children's Home, formerly called the Heart Home, was established in 1991 by Pastor Clive Dottin, then Youth Director of the South Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Ps. Dottin was supported by Mildred Jones and later, Ms. Angela Joseph of ‘Friends Forever’ in getting the initiative up and running as a response to children who were victims of abuse and abandonment and in need of a safe space. Casa is home to seventeen children ranging in ages from five to seventeen and operates under the auspices of the South Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. It aims to be a model home providing stability and direction for abused and abandoned children in Trinidad and Tobago. The Laminin Foundation seeks to recruit and empower a cadre of committed volunteers to support this institution in enhancing the lives of the children residents. Members and volunteers alike can donate finances as well as food items such as groceries, vegetables, juices, and fruits to support the needs of the children. On occasions, Laminin may also sponsor prepared meals when resources are available.
